Who doesn’t like marshmallows?! Don’t always want to drive to a shop? Having a birthday or some guests over or just need some snacks for an upcoming movie night. You can now make your own!
We made this one special and tasty.. I added a squeeze of fresh orange juice and some zest.
It came out Great!
Here is how I did it…

You will only need a few ingredients for this recipe. This is so quick and easy to make, but you will have to leave it aside in a cool dry place for it to set about 3 – 4 hours, for that Perfect marshmallow we want.
Orange Flavor Homemade Marshmallows:
Ingredients:
For the Orange sugar syrup:
- 2 cups Sugar
- 3 cups Water
- 1 Orange ( the zest aside and juices squeezed out)
Bring the ingredients above to a boil until a thick see-through syrup forms. Adding the orange and zest while boiling.
Prepare the gelatin to add to the sugar syrup whilst the syrup is still on the stove.
For the gelatin mix:
- Gelatin powder (1 packet / 1 heaped teaspoon)
- 1/2 cup warm Water ( water musnt be too cold and not too hot)
Mix gelatin and hot water until a brownish water forms.
Add the gelatin mix to the sugar syrup in the pot on the stove and continue to stir until the gelatin has disolved for about 1 minute.

Take pot off stove and to make as quick as you can for the syrup not to set.
Add to a seperate mixing bowl and whisk until a thick and smooth marshmallow fluff.
Add to a sprayed dish or wax paper in a tray and even the mix out.
Let it rest aside in a cool dry place for about 3 – 4 hours.
Sprinkle top with cornflower and lightly pull away from sides to remove and to cut.
TIP: use cornflower and cover the knifes blade while cutting for a smoother cut.
Cut into desired pieces and serve.
