This is probably the most easiest way to cook Gem-Squash, or that I know of or grew up with. I would like to share this quick and lazy method with you, if you do not know of this way yet.

Cooking Gem Squash :
The only Ingredients you will need is:
- a Gem-Squash per person, cut in half.
- pinch of salt
- water to cover Gem-Squash in pot.
What you will have to do:
- wash and cut Gem-Squash in half.
- Remove the seeds
- Add to a pot of water (Squash should be covered)
- add pinch of salt
- put lid on and bring to a boil.
- Test with a fork and see if the “meat of the squash” is soft
- turn heat off.
- Strain the excess water and plate.
Serve with a teaspoon butter and salt to taste.
This vegetable is a healthy, colorful and delicious add-on to any meal.
