Ingredients and method:
NOTE:
This recipe yields no alcohol:
Bourbon optional adding.
In the crockpot / slow cooker add:
- Chicken (any pieces)
- Salt and pepper
- Oil
In a separate bowl add and mix in:
- 1 Diced onion
- 2 tsp. Garlic
- 4 tbsp. Oil
- 1 cup tomato/ketchup sauce
- 1/3 any BBQ sauce
- 1 cup Worcestershire /soy sauce
- 1 tsp Chili powder or red pepper flakes.
- 1 cup sugar / honey
- 2 tbsp. Apricot jam
- Cover chicken with salt and pepper and all the sweet and sour onion mixture.
- Put lid on the slow cooker and turn the heat on high. cook for +-2 hours.
- If setting on low, cook for +-4 hours.
Serving suggestion:
- Serve with rice
- Add some veggies on the side
- Serve on game day, but replace chicken pieces with small wings.
- Serve on birthdays or on platters, but replace chicken with smaller wings.
