Meatball Pie

Meatball Pie

Ingredients:

  • 750g Minced beef
  • 1 big onion chopped finely
  • 3 teaspoons garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 carrot grated -(optional)
  • 2 slices bread cut into blocks
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chutney
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder salt and pepper
  • 3 teaspoons mixed herbs

Dough:

  • 1/2 cup cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Method:

  • in a big bowl, add the bread and 100ml milk.
  • add all the meatball ingredients together and mix
  • spray a baking dish and form balls with the meat mixture, place in rows in the baking dish.

For the dough:

  • in a separate bowl add all the eggs and mix in a small bowl add the melted butter and milk and mix.
  • pour the butter and milk mixture into the eggs and mix thoroughly pour the mix over the meatballs
  • put in the oven bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 50 – 60 minutes

Serving suggestion:

  • serve warm or cold
  • Serve with gravy serve with rice, meat or other veggies
