The easiest dessert recipe from South Africa
Foolproof method – Refrigerator dessert (Traditional South African Mint chocolate tart)
This dessert can be effortlessly prepared using just four ingredients

South African Mint chocolate tart
Ingredients:
- 1 can heavy whipping cream
- 1 can Caramel Treat
- 1 Peppermint Crisp chocolate / any mint chocolate
- 1 packet of Coconut tennis biscuits
- 1 teaspoon Peppermint essence
Method:
- -In a bowl, whisk the cream till thick.
- -Add the caramel treat and whisk till thoroughly mixed.
- -in a dessert dish, place the cookies in one layer.
- -top with a thin layer of the caramel cream mixture. even out the mix.
- -add a teaspoon peppermint essence to the second half of the caramel mix and mix through.
- -place another layer of cookies on top of the dessert in the bowl before adding the rest of the mixture. with a scraper even out the mix.
- -grate half of the peppermint chocolate and roughly cut the rest.
- -crumble the rest of the cookies
- -to garnish, sprinkle the cookie crumbs on top followed by the grated chocolate and adding the rough pieces on top.
- -cover with cling wrap and place in the fridge over night.
Serving suggestion:
- place in the freezer for a cool Ice-cream like dessert
